Part 3

The next morning came. Noone had slept well at the farm and they all wanted to get the search back under way as soon as they could. Once the snow pretty much stopped around 9, they got in there cars and split up, just as they had done the day before and went their separate ways.
Frank woke up about the same time and realized he had slept more than he wanted to. He got up and walked into the bedroom to see about Bo. He approached the bed and noticed that Bo was either sleeping or passed out and he tried waking him up. Bo didn't respond and Frank picked up a bottle of smelling salts from the dresser and waved them under Bo's nose. Bo jerked awake and after a moment, looked at Frank.
"Have a nice night?" Frank asked
Bo didn't answer him.
Frank sneered and then hit Bo across the face. "I asked you a question." he said
"No," Bo said "Leave me alone." he added
Frank laughed "You should have gotten it through your head by now that i'm not going to leave you alone." he said and then hit Bo across the face again to punctuate the statement.
Bo flinched, which Frank smiled at and it spurred him on to hit Bo a couple of more times.
Bo tried to move away, but the handcuffs held him in place and he had no way of protecting himself against the blows. He could feel darkness slowly trying to invade his mind again.
Frank stopped after a minute and looked at the blood on the side of Bo's lip.
"Your going to be glad when i finally let you die." he laughed and then got an idea.
"That will have to keep you busy for a while. I'm going to go out for a little while and terrorize your family. Maybe bring one of them back and let you watch as i kill them."
"Don't you dare hurt them." Bo gasped
"I'll do what i want to." Frank snapped  and then walked towards the door. "Have fun by yourself. I'll be back in a little while."
And then he was gone. Bo struggled for a few moments with the handcuffs and then gave up. He knew he had the opportunity to escape, if only he could get the cuffs off. Maybe then he could get out of here and stop Frank. He tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness swept through him and he felt sick. Closing his eyes tightly he laid his head back down and tried to make the encrouching darkness leave his mind. Moaning softly he wished the feeling would just go away, but it stayed and after trying to stay awake for a few minutes, he finally gave into the darkness and he passed out.

It was around noon before anything happened. Luke and Kelly had gone into Chickasaw County too look there and they enlisted the help of the local sheriff there. They had found nothing and after the sheriff promised that he would continue to look, they went on back to Hazzard.
After driving for a little while, they stopped at the old Saw Mill to look around. When they came back out, Frank was there waiting for them.
Luke stopped short in his tracks and held out an arm to hold Kelly back.
"About time you came out of there." Frank said as he leaned against his car.
"Frank," Luke said through clenced teeth.
"You remember me." Frank said, "How nice."
"What are you doing here?" Luke asked, suddenly fearing the worst.
Frank laughed "I just wanted to take a little break from torturing Bo, so i decided to come and find his family." he said "Make your life a little bit more miserable."
Luke took a step forward, but Kelly put a hand on his arm and stopped him.
"Let Bo go." Luke seethed.
Frank shook his head "I don't think so."
Luke growled and shook Kelly's hand of his arm. He took a step forward, but stopped when Frank pulled out his gun.
"Don't come any closer Duke." Frank said "Otherwise i will kill you to."
Luke stopped and glared at Frank. Behind Luke, Kelly held her breath.
"Let Bo go." Luke told him again.
Frank shook his head "I'll let Bo go when he's dead, but that's the only time i will do what you want."
"Your sick." Kelly told him
Frank looked over at her and laughed. "Yes my dear. I am." he said.
He laughed again and then walked around the car and started to get into it. He looked back up at them. "I'm getting a little bored with this, so i'll leave. You'll have Bo back when i'm through with him, but not until then." he said and then got into his car and drove away.
Kelly walked towards the car and then looked at Luke, who was staring at the way Frank had gone.
"Let's go!" she said, getting in.
Luke looked over at her and then back at the way Frank was driving and then ran over to the car and got in.
"Floor it." he said
Kelly did as she was told and within minutes, they were behind Frank.
Frank smiled evily when he saw them in his rear view mirror and he picked up the CB.
"Ya'll don't seriously think you can stop me." he said
Luke picked up the CB "We'll do whatever it takes to stop you." he said.
Frank laughed. "You know, if anything happens to me then you won't find where Bo is."
Kelly turned briefly to Luke "He's right you know."
Luke sighed. "I know." he said "Just try and run him off the road. If we can take him in, maybe we can force the location of where Bo is, out of him"
Kelly nodded and then sped up and rammed the car.
Frank only smiled and sped up himself.
"Go around him" Luke instructed.
Kelly pulled out and started to come up beside Frank. Frank then pulled over, causing Kelly to drop back a little bit. Kelly tried it again and then Frank swerved again, trying to force her off the road.
Kelly tried once more, and Frank swerved again and this time Kelly lost control of the car. She swerved a little bit and was in the process of getting it back under control and hit a pack of black ice. She lost total control of the car and went off the road and into a snow covered ditch.
Frank saw the whole thing in his rear view mirror and laughed. He stopped briefly and turned around to look back.
"Are you ok?" Luke asked Kelly
Kelly nodded "I think so," she said, pushing her hair away from her face. "You?"
Luke nodded "I think so." he said and then noticed that Frank had stopped.
Without thinking, Luke reached over and grabbed Kelly's gun out of her holster. He got out of the car and scrammbled back up the bank and back onto the road. Slipping a little bit on the snow and ice, he started running down the road, only slightly aware that Kelly was calling for him to come back.
Frank noticed that Luke was running down the road after him and he had a gun in his hand. Frank smiled, grabbed his own gun and stepped out of the car.
Luke stopped in his tracks just a little ways away from Frank and brought his gun up.
"I wouldn't if i were you." Frank said as he pulled the safety back on the gun.
"Give yourself up." Luke told him
Frank lauged "I don't think so." he said and then fired the gun.
The bullet struck the ground next to Luke's boot. Luke moved slightly.
Frank smiled at him and then started to get back in the car. "You try anything else, then the next bullet will be in you." he said "Just be glad that i don't go ahead and shoot you and that pretty thing behind you."
Kelly glared at Frank.
Frank smiled back at her. "Now if you will excuse me, i have to go back and torture Bo some more." he said and then got in his car and started driving away.
Luke pulled the safety back on the gun and started running down the road, trying to catch up with Frank. Once he realized that he couldn't, he stopped and started firing the gun until it was out of bullets and Frank was out of sight. shouting in frustration, he threw the gun down on the ground.
Kelly came up behind him and put a hand on his arm. Luke turned around, expecting to get shouted at, but she didn't say a word.
"I'm sorry." Luke said
Kelly shook her head "We're just going to have to tell everyone else to keep a look out for the car he's driving. Maybe someone else will catch him." she said and then added "Come on, let's go call Cooter and have him get this car out of the ditch."

Noone else ever saw him, Frank made sure of that. At one point he even abandoned the car he was driving and stole another one. They continued to search for him and for where he could have been holding Bo until it started to snow again and they had to pack it in for the night. Frank continued to drive around before finally deciding that no one was going to find him and then went on back to where he was holding Bo.
Frank made it back to the hideout without to much problems. After hiding the car in the barn, he smiled as he walked into the house. He made it into the bedroom and saw that Bo was awake and struggling to get out of the cuffs.
"Having problems?" Frank sneered
"Beginning to wonder where you were." Bo snapped
Frank walked over and stood over him "You can't get rid of me that easily." he laughed "Besides, if something happened to me then you  would never get found." he added and then picked up the keys to the cuffs off the dresser.
Bo watched him as he unlocked the cuffs.
"What are you doing?" he asked
Frank stepped back and smiled "Giving you what you want." he said "You want to fight me and i'm going to let you." he stopped again and laughed. "Besides it will help me with my frustration over not going ahead and and killing your cousin and your girlfriend."
Bo was sitting up and rubbing his wrists and when Frank said that he glared at him
"That's right." Frank said "I ran into Luke, but don't worry he's in one piece. A little bit more than i can say for you when i get through with you."
"If you hurt them." Bo started
Frank shook his head. "Don't start making threats you can't do anything about." he said and then smiled "There both very lucky i didn't go ahead an shoot them, especially when Luke shot at me as i was driving away. I was considering stopping and getting out and going ahead and putting him out of his misery. In fact i should have.
Bo stood up, swaying a little bit and Frank stepped back. "Getting you angry am I." he asked
Bo glared at him and took a step forward.
"Come on," Frank challenged "Do you your best."
The thought went trough Bo's head at the point that if he fought Frank, he was probably going to loose, but at the moment he didn't really care. Bo just wanted to hurt Frank in the same way he had been hurting him and just hoped he could  stand up to this guy.
Bo balled his fist and without another thought, swung at him.

Kelly stopped the car in front of the Duke Farm. They had gone out searching for a little bit longer even after the search had been called off. Then it had started snowing a little bit harder and she and Luke had decided that it would be for the best if they just went ahead and stopped.
"Would you like me to make some coffee?" Kelly asked as she got out of the car. "Then it will be ready when the other's get here."
Luke only nodded and then started to follow her into the house and then stopped. Kelly turned back
"You coming?" she asked
Luke shook his head "I'm going to stay out here for a moment." he said
"Alright, but don't stay out here to long. It's to cold..." she said and then looked at the snow coming down "And to snowy."
Luke nodded and then she walked into the house. He tilted his head back for a moment and let the snow fall around him. Sighing he started to walk towards the barn. Going inside he looked around at both the cars that were inside the barn. Uncle Jesse's truck was there, covered with a tarp and Bo's car was there also. They had moved it here from Erin's house just to get it out of the way there. Luke put his hand down on the hood and hoped that the car would have a driver to come back to it soon. Luke sighed again, feeling that this was all his fault. Maybe if things had been better, Frank would not have gotten the drop on them as fast and Bo's life wouldn't be in danger now. Then again, Luke had no way of knowing that.
Luke went to the driver side door and opened it and sat down inside.  He looked around the inside seeing nothing out of the ordinary. There were two pictures taped to the dashboard, one of the family and one of Kelly. Reaching over, Luke opened the glove compartment. Nothing there either except for a brown manila folder. Luke pulled it out and opened it up, curiosity getting the better of him. There were some papers inside and he read what it said.

Last Will and Testament of Bo Duke

Luke gasped and closed the folder up. He closed his eyes briefly, trying to forget what he just saw and what it meant. He opened his eyes back up and opened the folder and then also noticed that there were other envelopes in their addressed to different people, including one for him. Shaking his head, he closed it back up and then got out of the car. He didn't need to see this, it made what was going on that much more harder to deal with. He closed the car door and then walked out of the barn with the folder under his arm. He looked up at the sky as he steeped out of the barn and then said a silent prayer for everything to be ok. Then he cursed the weather and walked back towards the house, patting the General as he went by it.
Kelly looked up as Luke came in and then she saw the folder under his arm.
"Is that what i think it is?" she asked
Luke nodded, unsure if he could speak. "I was looking around in his car and i found this." he said as he put it down on the table like it had suddenly turned hot and was buring his hand
Kelly nodded "I was wondering if he had brought it with him. I was going to go looking for it." she said and then sat down at the table and then taking a sip of coffee. "He had it drawn up a few months ago." she said not looking up at Luke
Luke sat down and took a sip of his own coffee, trying to think. "What happened to make him do it?"
Kelly still didn't look up at him, she was fiddling with a ring on her finger. "He participated in a race a few months back and there was a wreck."
"Oh yeah. I remember him telling me about it." Luke said "I didn't think it had scared him that much."
"He didn't want to worry anyone." Kelly said "But it did scare him. He started thinking about alot of things and was depressed for a little while..." she stopped for a second. "He was starting to get better when all this happened.
Luke nodded, understanding what she meant. "I'm sorry." he mumbled. "For all of this."
"It's not your fault." Kelly told him
Luke sighed, knowing she was right, but still feeling that he had caused all this. "If i knew. . ." he started, but Kelly cut him off.
"No Luke. Don't say that." she said, looking at him. "You couldn't have known that your Uncle was going to die that night nor could you have known all the events that were going to happen after that."
Luke looked at her for a long moment, wanting to ask, but not sure if she would answer.
Kelly smiled slightly and then looked away. "Your wondering how i can say something like that." she said "Did Bo tell you i use to be married?"
Luke shook his head
Kelly nodded "I married my high school sweetheart and we went into law enforcement together. He was killed in the line of duty about five years into our marriage." she said
"I'm sorry." Luke said
"Don't be." she said "I then started drinking and spent a couple of years doing that until i got help. I had only been sober a year and just starting to date again when i met Bo at the party." she stopped and then looked at Luke "Other than my shrink, he is the best thing to have happened to me in a long time." she stopped again. "The only reason i say i can forgive you is because i know what grief will do to a person and that things happen for a reason and you can't do a thing to stop them."
"I can stop this one." Luke said "Stop Frank from killing Bo."
Kelly looked at Luke and nodded "We have to Luke." she said and then started to fiddle with her ring again.
Luke looked at it curiously. "What is that?" he asked
Kelly smiled and took the ring off her finger and let Luke look at it. "Its called a queen of hearts ring or a promise ring. In other countries it's used as a wedding ring."
"Oh," was about all Luke could say and then he handed it back to her.
"He gave it to me for Christmas." Kelly said and put it back on her finger, tears starting to form in her eyes. "I love him Luke and i want to get him back."
"We will, i swear." Luke said

Bo was on the floor, bleeding for several different places. Frank was standing over him, smiling.
"Having fun yet?" Frank asked as he kicked Bo in the stomach.
Bo flinched and held his stomach. Frank stood back, watching and waiting to see if Bo decided to do anything further. After a minute, Bo struggled to sit up and then got on his knees. Frank hit him across the head, but Bo didn't fall back to the ground.
"You not giving up yet?" Frank asked
"Never," Bo said between clenched teeth.
With a grunt, Frank pulled Bo to his feet and then threw him against the wall. Bo hit the wall hard and slid down it. Frank walked over and stood over him. Bo was breathing hard now and fighting to stay conscious. Frank then pulled him to a standing position and pinned him to the wall. Bo tried to struggle, but didn't have the strenght anymore to get Frank off of him. Frank only laughed at him and punched him in the stomach and ribs a few times. Bo cried out in pain and Frank hit him across the face a couple of times.
"Your going to die." Frank said
Bo tried to shake him off, but Frank wouldn't budge. Finally, Frank stepped away and back a few paces. Bo made himself remain standing even though all he wanted to do was pass out. After a moment, he pushed himself off the wall and staggered towards Frank. Frank smiled at him and dunked when Bo tried to hit him.
"Your going to have to do better than that." he said
Bo swung again, this time managing to hit Frank across the face. Frank stepped back and then looked at Bo.
"Very good Duke." Frank commented and then pushed Bo before he could do anything else.
Bo lost his balance and landed on the ground, crying out. Frank then walked over and grabbed something off a desk and walked back over. He knelt beside Bo, who was still on the ground.
"No." Bo said and tried to move away from Frank's reach.
Frank grabbed his arm and held him still. Bo tried to shrug it off, but Frank hit him across the face hard. Frank then took the syringe and injected Bo with the liquid.
"This is the same stuff i injected you with the other night. The one that makes you hurt really bad." he said and then back handed Bo across the face again.
He let go off Bo's arm and Bo collapased to the ground.
The drug took effect a short time later and Bo cried out in pain. Frank bent over him and laughed as Bo tried to curl up in a fetal position. Frank continued to laugh as he took ahold of Bo and started shaking him.
"Stop." Bo whimpered
Frank continued to laugh dangerously and then hit Bo across the face a couple of times. Bo was almost unconsciouss, but something in the drug kept him from doing so. He didn't know if he could take any of this much longer.
Frank then stopped and stood up. He watched Bo as he continued to wither and moan in pain. He was thoroughly enjoying this and it was going to be a shame that he was going to have to kill him some time. He wished he had gone ahead and killed Luke when he had had the chance, maybe Bo wouldn't be trying to fight back as much.
Frank stepped over to a chair and sat down. He was going to wait for the drug to wear off Bo before he did the next thing he had planned for him. Right now, he was content to watch Bo wither in agony as the drug kept it's hand on his system.

At the Farm, everyone had gotten together and were now planning on what to do next. Finally after a couple of hours talking, they all decided to pack it in for the night and try and get some sleep. As they had on the previous nights, everyone was staying at the farm.
Luke and Kelly were back in the kitchen and talking in low voices as to not wake Cooter who was trying to sleep out in the living room.
"What about a helicopter?" Luke asked suddenly.
Kelly thought about it for a second and then her face brightened "That could work, it just would depend on the weather."
Luke growled "Why don't we got by the airport as soon as the snow stops in the morning. See if we can't take one up." he said.
Kelly nodded "Good idea."
Both of them fell silent for a long moment, each lost in their own thoughts.
"Are you and Bo going to get married?" Luke finally asked, breaking the silence.
Kelly smiled slightly and shrugged "If he decides to ask me." she said. "He hasn't yet. I think he wants to, but. . ." she shrugged
Luke laughed softly "That's Bo for you." he said and then added "Are you ready though." he asked and then "Sorry, i probably shouldn't have asked that."
Kelly shook her head "No, it's ok. I think i'm ready, yeah."
Luke nodded and then sighed.
Kelly reached over and patted his hand "We'll get him back." she said, echoing his words from earlier.
Luke smiled slightly. "I know. I just. . ." he shrugged and then looked at her
"I know Luke, but you can't give up the faith." Kelly told him.
Luke looked up and smiled at her. "I know." he said and then yawned
"You need to get some sleep." Kelly told him "When was the last time you slept?"
Luke shrugged "I don't know." he said and then added "I'm fine."
Kelly was about to say something and then thought better of it and closed her mouth. She knew if she made him go get some sleep then he probably wouldn't do it and there was no point in that.
Kelly and Luke continued to talk until the middle of the night, when Kelly decided that she needed to try and get some sleep and she left him with his own thoughts.

As it had the night before,  the drug held it's effect on Bo until sometime over in the middle of the night. Once it had worn off, Frank tormented him for a little while and then left him alone, saying that he would be in for a real surprise later in the day. Frank left Bo on the cold floor instead of moving him and after watching Bo pass out from everything, he went over and sat down against the wall to watch him to make sure he didn't do anything. A short time later, he fell asleep himself.

About an hour after Kelly left, Luke fell asleep at the kitchen table and soon started having bad dreams. He had the same exact dream he had had the other night, the one where he found Bo in Uncle Jesses room instead of his uncle. Bo had gotten off the bed as he had done the previous night and started for Luke. Just as he had done before, Luke woke up and managed to get control of himself before he woke someone else. Sighing deeply, he got up and quietly walked outside. Drawing his jacket close around him, he sat down in the porch swing and looked out at the snow that was falling. He quickly became lost in his own thougths as he waited for the dawn and what problems lay ahead.

The morning came and Bo slowly opened his eyes. He groaned softly as he raised his head to look around where he was lying. A moment later he saw Frank asleep and leaning against the wall across from him. Bo instantly knew that if he didn't try and get out now then there probably wasn't going to be another chance. He sat up slowly, biting his lip to keep from crying out in pain as every muscle in his body protested the moment. He had to sit still after he sat up to give his head time to stop making things spin. After his head quite and he thougth he could move, he grabbed onto the bed and slowly pushed himself to a standing postion doing it as quitely as he could as to not wake Frank. Slowly and with effort he started walking quietly towards the door. He managed to get to it and then heard a laugh. He knew Frank had to be awake and that he was in for it.

As soon as first light had come, the searchparties where out again in full force. After searching on the ground for an hour,Kelly and Luke went to the airport to see if they couldn't get a helicopter. They were told they could take it out once the winds died down a little bit which might be an hour or more. They decided they could wait and spent the two hours doing so. Once they were actually given clearence to go it was on up in the morning and they both knew that they would have to start covering the ground that was already lost. Once airborn, Luke pointed the chopper towards Chickasaw figuring he could spot more from the air than he could he could on the ground.

"Thought you could get away from me that easily?" Frank said as he stood up.
Bo staid where he was, but didn't answer.
Frank walked over to him and stood behind him. "You are sorely mistaken and now your going to die a very slow death for it to." he said sneering "It's going to be a pleasure to watch you as you draw your last breath."
"I don't think so." Bo said and then with a flurry of motion, swung his elbow back connecting with Franks stomach.
Frank grunted and Bo took off towards the door going outside. Frank caught up with him as he reached it and roughly brought him to a stop. Bo struggled to get out of his grasp, but Frank didn't let go and then flung him to the ground.
Bo landed on the floor hard. Frank stood over him and then kicked him in the stomach twice. Bo gasped in pain as he held his stomach.
Laughing, Frank kicked him once more and then quickly went to his bag and brought out a brass knuckle. He also picked up the cattle prod and went back over to Bo who hadn't moved from where he lay.
"Get up." Frank commanded.
Bo made no move to get up.
Frank used the prod on Bo's neck. "Get up, now." he said
Bo held his stomach as he slowly made a move to get up. Frank unsatisfied with how slowly he was moving, reached down and grabbed onto his arm and roughly drug him to his feet.
"Your to slow." Frank growled and then threw Bo into a wall.
Bo landed hard against the wall and he cried out. Frank was over to him by the time he was starting to slide down it.
"No you don't." he said and held Bo against the wall with one hand.
Frank slid the brass nuckle on as Bo tried to struggle from his grasp. With a sneer Frank hit Bo across the face with it, drawing blood
Bo cried out in pain and tried to break free from Frank again, but Frank's grip was to strong. Frank snarled and hit Bo across the face a couple of more times. He then hit Bo a few times in the stomach and ribs, laughing evilly the whole time.
"Stop," Bo whispered, he could feel himself loosing consciousness.
"No," Frank snarled and stuck the cattle prod in Bo's stomach.
Bo cried out in pain as Frank continued to hold it there for a few moments.
"I've put your death off for to long."Frank told him and then hit Bo a few more times in the stomach and face with the brass knuckle "Die well Duke"
Frank took hold of his arm and flung him to the ground and then crouched over him, bringing the arm he held behind Bo's back roughly and grabbed onto Bo's hair with the other. He twisted Bo's arm and Bo cried out as it felt like it was going to either be pulled out of the socket or broken. He was hurting to much and he could feel the darknees slowly invading his mind. Frank then started slamming his head into the floor of the house a few times and Bo did finally loose consciousness.
Frank grunted and stood up, he knew that alone wasnt' really going to kill him. He knew he had to have already inflicted a good amount of damage already, but he wasn't satisfied with that.
Grunting he went into the back and picked up a pair of handcufss and walked back out into the room where Bo was still unconiscious and bleeding from several places, mostly from cuts on his face.
Walking over to the door, he opened it and then went back and picked Bo up. He walked outside and then put him down on the porch and handcuffed both his hands to a beam supporting the roof over the porch. He smiled, he was going to let Bo freeze to death, but not before he was awake to feel it happen.

Almost an hour later, Kelly and Luke had come up with nothing and they were quickly using up there fuel. They were now flying towards Atlanta, hoping to find some where along the way that Frank could be hiding.
"Do you know of any farms around here that they could be on?" Kelly asked into her headset speaker.
Luke didn't say anything for a second. "There's a few out this way, but most of the them are occupied." he answered
"Is there one that may not be occupied?" Kelly asked
Luke thought for a couple of minutes. "There's one off that way, i think." he said pointing towards the east. "The old Nelson place i believe, but i don't know if it's there any more." he said
"Let's go then." Kelly told him
Luke nodded and pointed the chopper in that direction.

Bo awoke a short time later, his face, stomach and ribs hurting. He was also cold and noticed that he was outside. He tried to move, but it did little good. He looked up, trying to focus on Frank as he sneered down at him.
"Thought i'd move you out here. Let you freeze to death." he said. and then crouched down next to him "Cold out here, isnt it." he added.
"Let me go." Bo whispered
Frank responded by hitting Bo across the face a couple of times with the brass knuckle. "I don't think so," he said "Your going to die and it's not going to take to long with you being out here, if the injuries i keep giving you don't claim you faster."
Frank laughed evilly and then punched Bo in ribs a couple of times.
Finally he stopped and then stood back up and watched Bo. Bo head hung down and his breathing was coming fast.
"My family...." Bo managed to start.
"Oh give it up." Frank said cutting him off and kicking him a few times.
Frank watched Bo and then brought his head up as he caught the sound of a chopper coming this way. He frowned and went back inside to get a gun. He came back out and looked up in the sky and a chopper came into view a short time later.

Luke flew the chopper for a few moments and then a farm came into view.
"Look!" Kelly said.
Luke looked where she was pointing. He saw the farm and the two figures on the porch. He gasped as he realized who those two figures had to be.
"We found them." he said
"I just hope we're in time." Kelly said
Then all hell started breaking loose. A shot rang out near the chopper, causing Luke to loose control for a second.
"We're getting shot at." Luke said "Hang on."
A shot rang out again
"Damn Frank." Luke cursed "We have to get down there somehow." he said, frustration clear in his voice.
"There might be a clearing nearby." Kelly told him
Luke nodded and flinced as another shot rang out and then another and this one hit the chopper.
"We've been hit." Luke cried. "Hang on." he told Kelly
Luke desperatly kept the chopper in the air and flew it a little ways, knowing the were loosing fuel fast. He spied a halfway clear space and started lowering the helicopter.
"Kelly, tell everyone what's going on. We're going to need reinforcements. And hold on. I'm going to try and bring her in smootly, but be prepared."
Kelly nodded and picked up the mick as Luke brougth the chopper to a somewhat smooth landing. He sighed in releif and turned to Kelly
"You ok?" he asked
Kelly nodded "Pretty much, just don't want to have to do that again." she said and then brocasted what was going on over the CB and also calling in an ambulance
"There on their way." she said. "What are we going to do now?" she asked
"Were going to have to try and take him." Luke said, climbing out of the copper.
Kelly nodded and followed, drawing her gun. She also drew another one from inside her jacket and handed it to Luke who took it a little reluctantly.
"Come on." she said and then moved off towards the direction of the farmhouse.
As they got closer a shot rang out, hitting a tree next to Luke.
"Take cover."  Luke said and the both hid behind trees.
"I know your out there!" Frank called out to them. "Show yourselfs or i'm coming in."
"No." Luke shouted back. "Release Bo and surrender yourself." he said
The could hear Franks laugh and another shot rang out close to him.
"You know, he's really starting to get on my nerves." Kelly told Luke and then cocked her gun.
Luke snorted and watched her fire in the general direction of where Frank was.
The could hear Frank laugh again and then a couple of more shots rang out hitting the trees around them
"Why don't ya'll just give yourself up. You can watch as Bo freezes to death and then i'll take ya'll lives as well." Frank called.
Luke frowned and then pulled the safety back on his own gun. He stepped out from behind the shelter of the tress and started walking forwards, barely aware that Kelly was telling him to come back.
He came into the clearing a short time later.
"Well, hello" Frank said in greeting and then smiled widly when Kelly came up beside Luke.
"Let him go Frank." Luke said, raising the gun and aiming it at Frank "And surrender."
Frank shook his head "Don't think so." he said and then added "Why don't you go and say goodbye to your cousin though, i don't think he's got to much time left."
Luke glared at him, wanting to just go ahead and shoot him and vaguly wondering when the reinforcements would get here.
"You can go on up there if you want." Frank told him smiling.
"No, don't Luke." Kelly said
Luke looked at Frank and then started walking towards the porch, keeping an eye on Frank the whole time. As Luke was close enough to him, Frank reached out a foot and tripped Luke up.
Luke fell to the snow covered ground. He heard the click of a gun next to his ear and Kelly's indrawn breath.
"Bad idea, now you will pay for it." Frank told him laughing.
Just then the far off sounds of sirens could be heard and the sound of another chopper. Frank looked up and frowned.
"Dammit." he said "You called in the calavary, how noble of you."
"Give it  up Frank." Kelly told him.
Frank grunted and listend as the sounds got closer. He had to get out of here, he had more or less done what he had come to do. Granted Bo wasn't dead yet, but he was close to it. He made the decision to keep these two alive so they would have to deal with losing their cousin and boyfriend.
Putting the safety back on, he struck Luke in the head with it and took started for the woods. Kelly reacted a split second later, pulled the safety back on her gun and aimed it at Frank, hoping just to stop him. She fired and Frank stopped in his tracks and fell to the ground seconds later
Kelly turned back around and knelt by Luke how was holding his head.
"You ok?" she asked
Luke grunted "More or less." he said and then pulled his hands away from the wound and saw that it was slightly bleeding.
"We should get that looked at." Kelly told him
Luke nodded "Nice shooting." he said indicating the downed Frank "Is he dead?"
Kelly shrugged "Don't know. He ain't going anywere for a while if that's what you mean" she said
Luke smiled slightly "Help me up." he said "We need to go to Bo."
Kelly helped Luke to his feet and they ran onto to the porch.Kelly brought out her handcuff keys and they both knelt beside Bo.
"Bo?" Luke said
No response.
Kelly opened the handcuffs and Luke took him into his arms and gently laid him down on the porch. He gasped at the sight of his cousin's bloody and scrated face.
"I hope he is dead." Kelly commented looking back over in Franks direction. Frank was still on the ground and appeared to not be moving.
A chopper sounded nearby and they both looked up. They saw the hospital markings on the side and they both breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank god."  Luke said
A few moments later the medics came over onto the porch just about the time that a patrol car pulled into the yard. Enos got out of it. He came over to the house and stood besiee Luke and Kelly who had moved away to let the medics work.
"Enos," Kelly said "Could you.." she said and nodded towards Frank.
Enos nodded and walked over to where Frank lay with another medic in tow.
"How is he?" Luke asked after a moment.
"Not good." one medic replied "We need to get him to the hosptail as soon as possible." he added as they continued to work on Bo and putting him on oxygen and hooking him up to a heart monitor.
Kelly let out a ragged breath and then looked over at Enos, who was coming back towards her.
"Well?" she asked
Enos shook his head "He's gone." he said
Luke closed his eyes for a brief moment and then opened them.
A minute later the medics where ready to go and Kelly, Enos and Luke followed them to the chopper.
"Can we go?" Kelly asked
One medic looked at them briefly "Just one" he said
"You go Kelly." Luke told her. "I'll ride back with someone."
Kelly nodded and climbed into the chopper. They took off a few seconds later and Luke watched as they flew out of sight, all the while praying that Bo would be ok.
He turned to Enos "Can we go." he asked
Enos shook his head and then they both turned at the sound of anothe patrol car coming onto the property. It was Cletus. Cletus stopped the car and got out.
"Hey ya'll" he said
"Cletus," Enos said. "The've taken Bo to the hospital, do you think you can take Luke while i finish up here." he said and then indicated the body of Frank.
Cletus nodded and then sneezed "Sure." he said "Hop in Luke."
Luke smiled and got in the patrol car. "Long as you don't give me what yo have." he said
Cletus laughed and then they pulled out of the farm and roared towards the hospital.
